Wim Boissevain (1927 -2023) was a prominent artist born in New York. He studied in Paris and London before settling in Australia in 1947. Boissevain exhibited regularly in Western Australia and Sydney and was the recipient of prestigious awards such as the Helena Rubinstein Prize in 1961 and the Perth Prize for Drawing International in 1971. Boissevain's diverse works, including nudes, still life, and animals, are featured in state galleries and overseas collections. A key figure in post-war Western Australian art, his enduring career spanned over five decades, showcasing mastery in various mediums, notably oils, watercolours, and pastels.
